The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External results on February 3, 2026. This announcement, made by Registrar Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State, marks a timely release just 52 days after the exams concluded.

Private candidates who sat for the November/December 2025 exams can now access their results online. The exam covered 16 subjects and saw strong performance overall, boosting opportunities for further education and employment.

PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS

A total of 95,160 candidates participated, with 68,166 (71.63%) achieving five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, 82,082 candidates (86.26%) earned five credits or better regardless of English and Math.

Notably, 78.32% passed English Language with credit or above, while 91.35% succeeded in Mathematics. These figures reflect an improvement in core subjects compared to prior years.

WHAT SSCE EXTERNAL MEANS FOR YOU

Unlike the June/July Internal SSCE for school students, External targets private candidates like repeaters or workers seeking certification. Results are valid for JAMB UTME, university admissions, and job applications nationwide.

If you scored below expectations, consider remarking or next year’s GCE – note External SSCE differs slightly from NECO GCE.

NEXT STEPS AND ADVICE
